Mixed-Fruit Smoothies
Why spend the money for a meal- replacement drink when you can prepare your own at home? For an impressive party drink, make two-tone smoothies with mango and strawberry flavors.
Start to Finish: 15 minutes
Makes: 6 (about 5-ounce) servings
Ingredients:
2 bananas, chilled and cut up
2⁄3 cup strawberries or mango slices
1 1⁄2 cups grape juice or mango, apricot,
or other fruit nectar, chilled
1 8-ounce carton plain fat-free yogurt
1 tablespoon honey (optional)
Fresh strawberries and mango slices (optional)
Instructions:
In a blender container combine cut-up bananas, strawberries, grape juice, yogurt, and, if desired, honey. Cover and blend until smooth. Pour into 6 chilled glasses. If desired, garnish with additional strawberries and mango slices.
Note: For two-tone smoothies, make mango smoothies and strawberry smoothies. Transfer to separate pitchers or glass measuring cups. Taking a pitcher or cup in each hand, slowly pour both smoothies at the same time into opposite sides of the glass.
